BANKSETA Learnership for Matriculants
Skill programmes of BANKSETA ensure that matriculants get training for a year in a bank. Even though entrance to a BANKSETA learnership and the successful completion of that BANKSETA learnership does not guarantee employment, 70 up to 80% of successful learners to date have been employed by the banks.

BANKSETA has a research and a Sector Skills Plan at the starting of each year in order to decide which jobs banks are struggling to recruit for, and styles the BANKSETA learnership itself for the year on the results. BANKSETA uses a couple of banks but of course there can be no BANKSETA learnership in a specific area unless there are one or more banks there. This thing is impacted on the rural BANKSETA learnership until Capitec and African Bank which is stepped in to help.
