The Sapref is the biggest oil refinery in sub Saharan Africa which is owned jointly by Shell Refining and BP Southern Africa. Sapref refinery is located in Durban and this company is the place to a couple of top petrochemical professionals in South Africa. The Sapref refinery is offering Sapref leanership programme in terms of Production and Engineering.
Requirements for applicants
There are a couple of requirements that you have to consider if you want to be applied to Sapref learnership programme.
- The candidate should have Matric maths and science certificate in engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical and Mechanical) or an S4 in Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical engineering.
- The candidate should have a positive attitude and high quality of behavior.

For those of you who pass the requirements above, you will receive formal training in the engineering and production fields at in-house college of Sapref. Lectures are completed with extensive training. Applicants on this learnership are created of learners who have come straight from matric, those who are doing in service training and those who come from colleges of FET. There will be a couple of youngsters who will get recognized qualifications in a couple of aspects of refinery operations.
