SABC learnerships are such a course for someone interested in working in broadcast media. SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation) is a public broadcaster in South Africa which provides 19 radio stations (AM/FM) as well as five TV stations for the general audience. It is one of the largest state-owned enterprises in South Africa.

SABC Programme Overview

The SABC learnership provides a monthly allowance for successful participants, where the amount of the allowance varies from one position to the others they are fulfilled. Most of the existing learnership will be held for approximately 6 to 24 months.

Eligibility and Requirements

Participants must meet the following requirements to apply for the SABC Learnership.

  • The participants must have a valid Metrics certificate.
  • The candidates are either a South African citizen or legal resident.
  • The participants are unemployed.
  • Have a valid identity book or card.
  • Have a degree or diploma in the chosen fields.
  • Computer literate.
  • Fluent in English, be it in reading, writing and speaking.
  • Must be willing to take an aptitude test, in addition to other requirements required in the selection process.
  • Must apply from the respective province.

If you have prior experience in Film & Television, you are also eligible to apply for this SABC learnership scheme.

Applications for a number of SABC learnerships are admitted annually. However, a permanent placement is not assured for these helps to fill vacancies within the organization which occur. SABC Learnership Application

Online recruitment systems for SABC apprenticeships are made available throughout the year as vacancies are available. Candidates wishing to apply can look at any changes during the year on the SABC website. Candidates can also send an e-mail to investigate. Candidates must confirm that they have the qualifications as set out in the advertisement or application form. Learnerships can also be promoted on SABC radio and local newspapers.

Once applications have been opened, you can download the form, complete it, and submit it along with all the necessary documents. Notice to carry all certification approved copies, as well as your ID. They won’t approve any late submissions, so make sure you’ve got your paperwork on schedule, along with all the required documents. Their learnerships are continually subject to change as their demands emerge and are fulfilled.

Send the submission as late entries will not be accepted for placement until the closing date. Cordially invite individuals from disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged communities to register for this SABC learnership programme. Please notice that contact shall be limited to shortlisted candidates and the successful candidates afterwards. Be prepared to work irregular hours and travel when required. Also, be prepared for Audio, Visual and Aptitude assessments. If you have not had a response to your application within 4 weeks of the application closing date, please consider your application to be unsuccessful. No further correspondence will be entered into.

SABC Learnership Closing Date

The closing dates for SABC learnerships are usually around every year from September to October. The SABC will contact qualified candidates, and applications for interviews will be provided. Applicants should accept their submissions as unfruitful if they don’t hear from them.
